Summer Homeowner Checklist

The official summer kickoff was late June 2017, but it’s not too late to check these items off of your summer to-do list to ensure your home is being maintained well:

Summer Home Maintenance Checklist:

  1. Check Outdoor Recreational Equipment for Maintenance
  2. Check Wood Deck or Concrete Patio for Deterioration
  3. Check Night lights at top and Bottom of Stairways
  4. Check Exterior Siding
  5. Check all Window and Door Locks
  6. Check Home for Water Leaks
  7. Check Water Hoses on Clothes Washer, Refrigerator, Ice maker, and Dishwasher for Cracks and Bubbles

And, if you haven’t checked these annual maintenance items off your list, your home will forgive you:

  1. Review Emergency Escape Plan with Household Members
  2. Make sure House Number is Visible from Street for First-Responders to see
  3. Replace all Extension Cords That Have Become Brittle, Worn, or Damaged
  4. Inspect and Clean Dust from Covers of Your Smoke Detectors and Carbon Monoxide Alarms
  5. Have your InterNACHI-Certified Professional Inspector Perform Annual Home Maintenance Inspection
